I’m not thrilled with the results. But the concept, yes.
This is near Point Imperial. It’s on the North Rim. It’s only accessible 5 months of the year because parts of the North Rim are close to 9000′ – like Point Imperial at 8800′ – and gets hammered by snow.
Here is Grand Canyon is most wondrous. Here is where I could spend days exploring the Rim off the trails. Here is where you would encounter very, very few people exploring off the trails too.
Like at that thin sliver of trees, about two miles from where I was standing, in the far left of the photo. I’d be surprised if more than 10 people a year walk there. Why didn’t I go there myself?
Ohhh… when you travel you contrive unnecessary timelines and urgencies. You convince yourself you’ve got to be here and do that at this time or else! You become the rushing Clark Griswald.
It’s hard to overcome the rush. At Grand Canyon, however, I always found it easier.
And right around here’s where I’d like my ashes scattered..
