You know joy will come into your life.
Pure joy will surge through your body at unexpected times for the rest of your life. This is an absolute, undeniable truth. Think about it.
You can recall many times when you were feeling bland, down or depressed when, suddenly, some piece of news, some kind word, or some inspiration instantly changed your state of being into that of pure joy.
Maybe it was receiving a big chunk of money. Maybe it was getting a new job. Maybe it was learning of the opportunity to travel to some new land. Maybe it was knowing that you were falling in love with someone that is falling in love with you.
You fill in the blank. But, the point is that just knowing you will experience many more moments like this – AND YOU WILL – is something to consider. Maybe it is even something to dwell on. Maybe you can even derive happiness from it right now by dwelling on it right now.
Your mind is more powerful than than you realize. Emotions of adversity you face are literally of your own creation. It is of uncontrolled thoughts, of fear, and other things. Sometimes merely saying to yourself “this too shall pass” detaches yourself from those emotions just for a moment, and recalibrates your attitude to being proactive, not reactive. It is literally at this point only a matter of time before the bad emotions fade, and joy returns.
Does knowing this make my life perfect? Hell no. And I think anyone who tries to project perfect harmony with circumstances, and say no bad emotions enter them, is a fraud. But, unequivocally, knowing what I have said above has caused the transition from bad to good to accelerate, even greatly, not just a few times.
Thus, it does bring a smile to my face, in this exact moment as I type these words, to know that life-changing joy will come. It is an undeniable fact. It is only a matter of time.
