Out of sheer boredom from time to time I have found myself watching entire old Cowboys games from the early ’90s, though I speed up between the downs.

The NFC Championship game between Dallas and San Francisco at San Francisco on January 17, 1993 which Dallas won 30-20 and led to their first victory over Buffalo at Pasadena…

The NFC Championship game between Dallas and San Francisco at Dallas on January 23, 1994 which Dallas won 38-21 and led to their second victory over Buffalo at Atlanta…

You can find a lot of games on YouTube.

I’m not living in the past. Cowboys glory days from 30+ years ago isn’t something I revel in. But, they do help me remember days long gone, at a personal level too. It’s a way to pass time sometimes.

I very clearly remember watching this Eagle game during my 10th grade year. You can watch it on YouTube HERE.

In this 1991 game, Dallas and Philadelphia were 9-5. Philadelphia had beaten Dallas eight times in a row. This was when Philly had Jerome Brown and Reggie White and their defense was freaking awesome.

Though Philadelphia’s defense embarrassed the Steve Beurline led Cowboys offense, what struck me was how relentless the Cowboy effort was to keep them in the game.

Jimmy Johnson’s discipline really showed in the character of the players. They played with heart and intensity, and that’s why Dallas won.

I’d bet others would enjoy watching old games too.
