Was re-reading Carrol Quigley’s Tragedy and Hope, and came upon some words that produced the following…

The modern world is much easier to survive in compared to past times. You can press buttons all day and have more food than medieval kings. Hell, many can just sit on their obesity all day, and collect welfare checks, and still eat better than those kings.

Thank the Agricultural, Industrial and (I say) American Revolutions. The harnessing of the powers of nature and technology in ways never seen before radically increased food production to a point that mankind was freer than ever before to pursue other endeavors not dedicated to food production. As Carrol Quigley said in Tragedy and Hope:

It has been said that in 1700 the agricultural labor of twenty persons was required in order to produce enough food twenty-one persons, while in some areas, by 1900, three persons could produce enough food for twenty-one persons.

Whereas the exact proportions of labor dedicated entirely to the production of food from AD 1500 to 2000 may truly be an exciting metric, I don’t feel obligated to produce it myself to make clear that, before the miracles of the modern age, the overwhelming majority of work that was essential for societal survival was performed by men because such work was HARD. Physically grueling may be more appropriate.

Women didn’t do the grueling work because they are not physically suited to such. They simply didn’t have the physical strength. It was a man’s world because technology hadn’t come around to allow women to make a living on their own, as became so in the 20th century.

Some hate-filled women nowadays refer to the societal structure of the past as “The Patriarchy.” They insinuate it was immoral, even evil. Wikipedia says:

Patriarchy is a social system in which men hold primary power and predominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, social privilege and control of property.

Why should the forgers of civilization in times past have castrated themselves before hateful women who want power over society they can’t create themselves? Of course they shouldn’t have. Only insane people would suggest this.

Why should men do it now? Look, I’m all for equality of opportunity. I’m not for equality of outcome, as those who scream “Patriarchy!” tend to be.

But these ugly, hateful women (and some men) won’t last when hard times come upon us again… and those times are coming.
