I got lazy here. I didn’t alter any of these photos. They are straight from my Samsung. They are south of the divide between the Umcompahgre and Animas river basins, that divide being the county line between Ouray County and San Juan County.
I took many more photos on this day than I post here. I extracted the best from the hundreds I took.
I divided the photos into different “concepts”. A area that caught my eye, which I shot from many angles, is a concept.
Maybe my artistic imagination could be improved. Patience would have helped. Zooming to certain places at sunset and sunrise would have helped, especially along the many USFS roads.
Whatever. So long as I am alive, and able, I’ll strive to come back to this part of Colorado. The San Juans are worthy of much time.
However, because they’ve blown up in popularity, the USFS roads have gotten a bit rough. An ATV here would be divine. I’ve driven virtually every type of vehicle made for rough and unpaved roads, and nothing compares to an ATV. They are supremely enjoyable.
